Our Weekend Market

Every Sunday rain hail or shine (with the option to move indoors on rainy days at ReDefined), the market runs from 8.30am - 12pm

The Papamoa Farmers Market philosophy is founded on the following principles:

Alternative to Supermarkets : Our market aims to be a viable alternative to large

supermarket chains where consumers are able to buy a wide range of fresh, local produce and be connected to the who, how, and where of produce or product origins. This means supporting a local food economy: local farmers, growers,

producers, and small food businesses.

Prioritize Ethical & Local : priority is given to stall holders who are selling staple

food products, such as fruit & vegetables, bread, eggs, milks, cheeses, and meat. The market offers a small selection of Artisans who sell locally made products and crafts. We give priority to stallholders who make an effort to use locally sourced ingredients, as well as those who use spray-free, organic, or free range. We hope to provide diversity and abundance, meeting weekly green grocer needs.

Closing the Gap, Creating the Connection : between producers and consumers. Papamoa Farmers Market is a place where growers/small business owners and consumers meet and deal directly with one another. This provides consumers with the opportunity to interact and build a relationship with the growers/producers of their food.

One World : One Tribe : The market provides more than just the best of what the BOP farmers and producers have to offer. It is also a place for our community, locals and visitors, to gather and grow as a tribe. Being a family friendly space, we welcome all ages and stages to come and experience what it looks and feels like to nourish yourselves both on and off the plate.

Sustainability > Regeneration : We focus on waste minimization as a way of reducing our impact on the environment. The market is an opportunity to, as a community, show our dedication not only to sustainability but regeneration. As a foundation, this means appropriate disposal of the minimal waste produced in association with the market, via waste, recycling and composting AND encourage BYO reusable bags.
